I don't have a special craft room. I have a desk with a sewing machine and serger in my living room.

The beginning of an adventure

Shortly after I had gotten married to my high school sweetheart, we moved away from our hometown on an adventure of a lifetime. My husband had gotten promoted and I quit my job as a bank teller to follow him. We moved to a really small town 5 hours away from home in Southwestern Ohio. It was difficult for me to find work. My mother in law had made clothing for cabbage patch and barbie dolls and was finding it difficult to make clothing as she aged. Her inventory was missing the modern age clothing that little girls wanted for their dolls. She asked me if I would like to help her out. I had learned to sew in high school and continued with it through 4-H. At first it was just cutting fabric, using her patterns, stringing beads, and working craft shows with her. After I made a small salary, I purchased my very own sewing machine and we partnered together to create American Doll clothing and Barbie clothing. We combine our clothing and participate in local craft shows. I own and operate my own etsy shop while taking care of 3 growing children, a border collie, and a husband. It's hard work, but hey, someone's got to do it.
